Maurizio
Dècina
Director, CEFRIEL-Center of Research and Education in Information
Technology
Maurizio Dècina is a professor at Italy's Politecnico
di Milano where he teaches communication networking in the
Department of Electronics and Information. Maurizio Dècina
also directs the CEFRIEL Center of Research and Education
in Information Technology, a university-industry consortium.
He received his doctorate in electronics engineering from
the University of Rome in 1966. He has divided his 35-years
in telecommunications between industry (Telecom Italia, Italtel
and AT&T) and academia (University of Rome, Politecnico di
Milano).
As executive R&D director of Italtel, Milan, he contributed
to the development of the Linea UT digital switching system.
As a consultant for AT&T Bell Laboratories in Naperville,
Illinois, he worked in the field of broadband electronic and
photonic switching. Today, his interest is focused on interoperability
architectures for the future information infrastructure.
He has also been active in international telecommunications.
From 1972 to 1988 he was involved in the standardization activities
of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), and contributed
to the development of speech coding, transmission, signaling,
and ISDN standards. Prof. Dècina is a Fellow of IEEE
(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), has served
as President of the IEEE Communications Society in 1994-1995,
was the recipient of the IEEE Award in International Communication
in 1997, and of the IEEE Third Millennium Medal in 2000.
Since 1977, Prof. Dècina has acted as a professional
consultant for ITU and for several small, medium and large
telecommunications companies, either service providers, or
manufacturers. He was a Member of the Board of Directors of
Telecom Italia, and today he is a Board Member of several
companies, including Italtel, Tiscali and I.NET.

Nim Cheung
VP Applied Research Government Program, Telcordia Technologies
Nim Cheung is Vice President of the Applied Research Government
Program at Telcordia Technologies, a subsidiary of Science
Applications International Corporation. He assumed different
research and management positions in Bell Laboratories and
Bellcore from 1976 to 1999, and has been a principal investigator
for several gigabit and optical networking testbeds sponsored
by the U.S. Government.
Dr. Cheung received his Bachelor of Science degree from the
University of Hong Kong in 1970, Masters and Ph.D. degrees
in physics from California Institute of Technology in 1972
and 1976, respectively. He is a Telcordia Fellow, and a Fellow
of the IEEE. He has held numerous leadership positions in
the IEEE Communications Society, serving as Vice President
of Technical Affairs for the IEEE Communications Society from
1996-97, and Distinguished Lecturer for the Society in 2001-2002.

Keith
J. Willetts

Keith
Willetts has over thirty years experience in the communications
and computing fields. He is currently Managing Director of
Mandarin Associates Ltd. - a UK based consultancy company
specializing in communications management for mobile and IP
markets. He was previously Managing Director of TCSI Corporation
and held a number of executive positions at BT. He was the
driving force behind several of BT's managed services and
the Concert brand identity.
He has wide international experience and is recognized as
one of the world's leading authorities on communications service
management. His pioneering work in management architecture
was a key foundation for the TMN architecture including the
well-known TMN 'triangle'.
Keith Willetts is also Chairman of the Board of TeleManagement
Forum. Since co-founding the organization, he has steered
its evolution to become a 260+ company global consortium of
major influence in the communications sector. A regular presenter
and writer on global networking and service management, he
co-authored the highly influential book in this field, The
Lean Communications Provider, published by McGraw-Hill.
His achievements have been internationally recognized, being
honoured twice in the Communications Week "Top 25" awards
for industry visionaries; The British Computer Society award
and BT's highest honour, the BT Gold Medal. He is British
and lives in the UK.

Makoto
Yoshida

Makoto
Yoshida is Vice President, General Manager for Network Solutions
Business Headquarters, NTT-AT (Advanced Technology) Corporation,
currently responsible for the management of network/systems
integration and operations service business. He is also currently
serving as a Board member of NTT DoCoMo Technology Corporation.
He has a Bachelors degree in electronics engineering and a
Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Tokyo.
Before joining NTT-AT in 1995, Dr. Yoshida worked for NTT
with considerable experience in the research and developmental
fields of teletraffic engineering, network architecture/design,
operations and management architecture/systems, including
the international standardization arena (former CCITT). He
has also been involved in the activities of the TeleManagement
Forum (TMF, formerly NM Forum) since its inception in 1988,
having served as Vice President, Vice Chairman and former
Chairman. He is Fellow of TMF and currently Advisor to the
Board of Directors. He is also a Board member of Japan Network
Security Association and NTT-AT representative to Japan Internet
Forum.
Dr. Yoshida is a member of IEEE, the Institute of Electronics,
Information and Communication Engineers (IEICE) and the Information
Processing Society of Japan. He has been serving as a committee
member to international symposia such as NOMS, IM (formerly
ISINM), APNOMS and Telecommunications Management (TM) Technical
Group of IEICE Communication Society. He has authored and
co-authored a number of books, as well as over fifty technical
papers in communications and management.

Basham

Mark Basham is Director of RHKs OSS: Global program.
Mark primary focus is on the service assurance market in North
America and Europe. Mark brings over 22 years experience in
the industry, including technical, commercial, and management
roles at hardware and software vendors, and service providers.
Most recently, Mark was Vice President of the European Solutions
group at Ceon Corporation. At Ceon Mark had responsibility
for the Sales Engineering, Professional Services, Solution
Configuration and Technical Support functions. Mark was previously
with Tellabs Inc. where he was Director of Sales Engineering
EMEA, and prior to that Projects Director for Tellabs broadband
HFC access systems deployment in Europe. Mark started his
career at Marconi Communications Ltd; where he spent 9 years
primarily involved in digital line and cross connect systems.
From Marconi he joined Mercury Communications; the UKs second
licensed fixed telecommunications service provider, where
over a 7 year period he held project management, technical
and managerial roles. Whilst at Mercury Communications Mark
was intimately involved in the planning, design and implementation
of Mercurys International gateway transport, access
and monitoring systems. Mark has an HND in Electrical &
Electronic Engineering, and an HND in Business Administration.
He is currently located near Newbury, in Berkshire, England.
